This story is based on the effects drugs had on the author’s 8-year-old son, Vince. Issues such as peer influences, behavior, attitude, and self-self esteem are raised as Vince slowly succumbs to the drug monster (addiction).
This three-part series and accompanying print curriculum teaches students in grades 3-5 the very latest research based information about the dangers of drugs they are likely to encounter, choices and options related to such exposure, and refusal skills to arm them in peer pressure situations where they might be tempted to try drugs.
